Wedding Remembrances

A consistent trend in contemporary weddings is to make note of those who cannot be with the couple, to celebrate.  It is especially important to do so during these days of the pandemic when travel is difficult and so many people remain very concerned about contracting the virus.  Today I did a sweet ceremony in a beautiful couple’s far west side home.  I noticed a table with a simple, but lovely, floral arrangement and candle.  There was a note indicating that it was in remembrance of her late father.  Simple.  Elegant.  Effective.

If there are people who can’t be at your celebration, for whatever reason, talk to your officiant about how their absence can be tastefully incorporated into the ceremony.
